Equal Opportunities
In line with the public sector equality duty introduced by the Equality Act 2010 the London Borough of Bexley wants to make sure that we provide our services fairly, which includes checking to see that we do not discriminate against you because of your race, colour or ethnic group.
We have also adopted the "Commission for Racial Equality Code of Practice" in rented housing which requires us to take action to prevent either direct or indirect discrimination on racial grounds.
To reflect this our application form includes some questions under the heading 'Equal Opportunities'. The questions are about;
- nationality
- ethnic origin
- disability
- religion
- sexual orientation
You do not have to provide an answer to these questions if you don't wish to do so, for example you can select 'not stated' or 'Do not wish to disclose'. You will be able to continue and complete your application form.
