Changes to Bexley's Housing Allocations Policy

        7 September - 13 November 2015

You are invited to give your feedback on proposed changes to Bexley's Housing Allocations Policy.

The current Housing Allocations Policy was introduced in June 2013. It was agreed that a review would take place to identity any further changes required.

A review of the policy has now taken place and the Council is seeking your views on five proposed changes, which are:

   1. Increase prior residency rule from 2 years to 5 years.

   2. Encourage downsizing by increasing priority to under-occupiers

   3. Greater use of out-of-borough private / social rented accommodation for homeless households.

   4. Additional priority to homeless clients in emergency accommodation

   5. Increased priority for social needs cases

The proposed changes will allow Bexley to best allocate properties to meet the identified housing pressures facing the borough.

More information about these changes is contained in our feedback survey:Housing Allocations Policy Consultation 2015 (Opens in a new window)

The closing date for feedback is Friday 13 November 2015.

Thank you
